Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt

A resurgent the Russian player claimed his initial title for 882 days with success over Frenchman Moutet in the competition title decider.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has had a difficult year, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the New York tournament.

Medvedev's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serve in particular - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally splitting with long-term mentor Gilles Cervara.

Presently training with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently improved in the past month - culminating in a closely contested three-set win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

It is Medvedev's initial trophy since the Italian tournament and first on a hardcourt after March of 2023.

Success also signifies Medvedev has achieved twenty-one championships at twenty-one different events.

"For the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters together, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," commented tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter Victoria, because the initial championship I achieved when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had failed in his last six title deciders, comprising in the German tournament earlier this year.

The player's counter-punching strategy and frequent emotional displays on the tennis court had led commentators to question if his capacity to play at the top level was over.

Yet the athlete has altered his approach in recent weeks, making an effort to come to the net and compete assertively, reinforced by an improved serve.

The champion recovered from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, securing 4 of the final five exchanges to gain the advantage.

Both players exchanged service breaks in the following set before Moutet, bidding for his maiden ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to force a decider.

The opponent defended 4 early opportunities in a competitive final set before Medvedev secured a break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Fittingly, the winner earned victory with a shot at the net area, with his opponent incapable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
